Frequently Asked Questions

Read on for quick answers about our Giving Day

What are we raising money for?

Giving Day is LEH’s biggest fundraising event of the year. 100% of the money raised on Giving Day will go towards the LEH Bursary Fund. Currently we have 67 pupils in the school who are financially supported by the Bursary Fund and our ambition is to increase this to 100 by 2025

This year, we had over 100 applications to the Bursary Fund and while many of these pupils were excellent candidates who would have undoubtedly enriched the LEH community, we only had funding to offer bursaries to 13 of these applicants.

In 2021, Giving Day raised enough money to fund a new Sixth Form bursary place. This year, we are hoping to raise even more.

Most pupils who receive support from the Bursary receive ‘100% plus’ assistance. This means that all costs, including tuition, uniform, transport to and from school, iPad and books, lunches and one curriculum trips per year are covered.

When Is Giving Day?

Giving Day takes place for 1710 minutes – that’s 28.5 hours – starting at 9am on Thursday 16th June and ending at 1.30pm on Friday 17th June.

How can I give?

You can donate here.

Or you can make a bank transfer:

Barclays Bank plc, Lady Eleanor Holles School
Sort Code: 20-47-23
Account number: 40344370

Cheques (made payable to ‘Lady Eleanor Holles School’) can also be sent to:
Development Office at LEH, Hanworth Road, Hampton TW12 3HF.

When can I give?

While Giving Day itself is being held on the 16th and 17th June we recognise that it is not possible for everyone who wants to donate to commit to giving in that period. For this reason, any donation made between now and the end of 25th June will be counted towards our Giving Day fundraising and will therefore be eligible for our match and challenge funding pots.

What is match and challenge funding?

Match and challenge funding is made possible by kind donors to the school who have pledged money as part of Giving Day to encourage other donations. Thanks to our matched funding pot, a £100 contribution, with Gift Aid, is worth £250. Other challenges will be unlocked throughout the day, for example, when enough first-time donors make a contribution. To find out more, please check the challenges page on our Giving Day website.

Is there a minimum donation amount?

Absolutely not. All gifts, large or small, are appreciated and of great importance. Imagine the change we can make when we all work together.

How can I increase the value of my gift?

If you are a UK taxpayer, Lady Eleanor Holles (the charity) can reclaim 25p of Gift Aid on every £1 you give to LEH. This makes a sizeable difference to the amount of money we can raise at no extra cost to you. If you would like to make your gift tax-effective in this way, please don’t forget to complete a Gift Aid declaration, the online form can be found at www.lehs.org.uk/support-us/gift-aid or please let us know if you would like to be sent a paper form in the post.
