What are we raising money for?

Giving Week is LEH’s biggest fundraising event of the year. 100% of the money raised throughout Giving Week will go towards the LEH Bursary Fund.

At LEH we are passionate about learning and believe strongly that access to a first-class education should be available to all. Providing a learning experience that truly supports and motivates a child can have transformational effects on their life. Creating a truly diverse environment, which benefits every pupil, is what drives our work in support of the LEH Bursary Fund.  

We raise money for the Bursary Fund through regular donations, dedicated events throughout the year, ad hoc campaigns, and legacies. Through the generosity of our LEH community, last year we raised our biggest total yet — £1.2 million. All donations to the Bursary Fund are ring-fenced and cannot be used for any purpose other than the support of our bursary pupils. In 2022/23 we spent £1.75 million on bursarial support. 

Most pupils who receive support from the Bursary receive ‘100% plus’ assistance. This means that all costs, including tuition, uniform, transport to and from school, iPad and books, lunches and one curriculum trips per year are covered.

When Is Giving Week?

Giving Week is taking place place 10-14 June 2024. Our students across the school will be taking part in sporting challenges across the week and on Thursday 13 June we will be holding a whole school challenge for staff and students.

When can I give?

Donations for Giving Day have been opened in advance of Giving Week itself to allow parents to motivate their child(ren) by way of a donation. Donations from the wider LEH community will be open from 9am on 13 June 2024. We recognise that it is not possible for everyone who wants to donate to commit to giving in the Giving Week period. For this reason, any donation made between now and the end of 28th June will be counted towards our Giving Week fundraising and will therefore be eligible for our match and challenge funding pots. 

What is match and challenge funding?

Match and challenge funding is made possible by kind donors to the school who have pledged money as part of Giving Week to encourage other donations. Extra funding towards challenges will be unlocked throughout the week, for example, when enough first-time donors make a contribution. Is there a minimum donation amount?

Absolutely not. All gifts, large or small, are appreciated and of great importance. Imagine the change we can make when we all work together.

How can I increase the value of my gift?

If you are a UK taxpayer, Lady Eleanor Holles (the charity, Charity Number: 1130254) can reclaim 25p of Gift Aid on every £1 you give to LEH. This makes a sizeable difference to the amount of money we can raise at no extra cost to you. If you would like to make your gift tax-effective in this way, please don’t forget to complete a Gift Aid declaration, the online form can be found at www.lehs.org.uk/support-us/gift-aid or please let us know if you would like to be sent a paper form in the post.
